Our history with the Iraqi oil industry dates back to the early 1970s. Back then, we used to offer security services to the Iraqi National Oil Company for the southern oil fields. Our presence for nearly 45 years enabled us to gain a profound understanding of the local market and made it possible to build an extensive network of local and international alliances.
Rig Move
uring the past decade, we have performed hundreds of onshore rig moves under harsh and difficult conditions. The reason behind our success is the state-of-the-art equipment that we utilize which is managed and operated by a highly qualified and certified team.

Equipment Rental
ur company provides customers with exceptional and high quality service for equipment rentals. We offer numerous product lines including cranes, excavators, flatbed trucks for heavy loads, dozers, wheel loaders, forklifts, and many others. Our rental fleet comprises over 400 machines and is considered to be one of the largest in the south of Iraq.
Our machines are rented on a monthly or yearly basis with full maintenance and follow-up from our side.
Moreover, our company is capable of proving power solutions by renting power generation sets ranging up to 1MW. In emergency cases, this can be mobilized and set to work in less than 24 hours.
Transportation of Heavy Equipment
From our company’s earliest days, we have worked to establish ourselves as a reliable partner for transporting equipment in the oil and gas industry. Thanks to the experience and knowledge of our employees, we offer our customers a full range of oil and gas industry logistics services related to land transport.
Our company has extensive experience in implementing special transport projects. We have shipped specialized equipment for oil refineries, pipeline construction, and drilling rigs. This is of course accomplished by our well-trained and certified team who accomplish the job with the highest safety standards. We also maintain our own fleet of trucking tankers for transporting clean water and gasoline to several clients operating in the southern oil fields.

Warehouse Management
Through our sister company Maraba Iraq Al Khadra, ALKATRA possesses over 50.000 square meters of open warehouse space available for either commercial or industrial storage.
Whether you require short-term or long-term storage, we have the capability to warehouse and transport your equipment as specified regardless of size, quantity, or destination. We offer the storage of large, bulky, and unusual items. Our warehouses are secured round the clock by a team of professional and trained security guards.
Life Support
- Basra Industrial Community (BIC) is a 17,400 square meter camp and office complex situated within the North Rumaila Oil Field in Southern Iraq; approximately 65 kilometers from Basra International Airport. It is operated and managed by our sister company Schwob and Maraba Iraq Al Khadra. BIC is strategically located to directly support all ongoing IOC ground operations within Southern Iraq.
- The camp shares the same area as approximately 40 companies including Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, Lukoil, Petrofac, Weatherford, and Saipem. Due to the close proximity to major highways, we are geographically positioned to support oil field operations.
